I went to Sur la Table today. I was just going to window shop. But how come a cook only browse the stuff? I bought a few things, I got this amazing termometer to check when the cake is ready.
Going to a fancy restaurant is fun.. Bug getting to shop stuff for your kitchen is way better. Flavors come to mind and you start thinking about the things that you’re going to chop and bake with your new tools. I need a big kitchen and then a major visit to Sur la Table.

Nothing like a good tasty cookie a day
The best meals are made with fresh ingredients. Chicken soup anybody? Or how about an omelette?
Las granjas de los abuelos han sido refugios de muchos cuando chicos. Recuerdo los arboles frutales y aquellas gallinas que siempre fueron buenas proveedoras de huevos frescos.
Texas is a good place to go for BBQ and I was lucky today to visit Clark’s Outpost in Tioga, TX.
They do real slow-smoked cooking. I saw the machine that it’s cooking some briskets tonight, and will get them ready for tuesday (3 days at least). Each brisket looses 42% of its weight on the machine, and you don’t get any special ingredients other than smoke and time. The owner was also kind to show me inside the Kitchen where the magic happens and share his story working for this place non stop for quite a few years.
I had the Turkey breast and it just melted in my mouth, with good variety of side dishes and some live country music in the place. Texas BBQ, checked!
